Listed as a World Heritage Site in 1999, the Saint-Emilion vineyard was the first to be recognized by UNESCO as a cultural landscape. In 2024, the Juridiction of Saint-Emilion invites you to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this listing and (re)discover the beauty and secrets of this world-famous vineyard!<\/p>\n

On the weekend of September 21st and 22nd, 2024, the 8 communes welcome you to celebrate this anniversary and the European Heritage Days, under the theme \u201cHeritage of itineraries, networks and connections\u201d!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 8 communes of the Juridiction are offering concerts, entertainment for young and old, a masterclass that promises to be legendary in Saint-Emilion, a round-table discussion on UNESCO-listed vineyards, a relaxation area in front of the Saint-Emilion House of Wines, the opening of historic buildings in the various communes…<\/p>\n

On Saturday evening, you can also watch the torchlight procession of the Jurade de Saint-Emilion, the 8-hundred-year-old wine brotherhood and guardian of traditions. The highlight of the evening will be a pyrotechnic show entitled \u201cLumi\u00e8res sur la Tour\u201d (Lights on the Tower), presented by the commune and \u201cSoirs de F\u00eate\u201d, to celebrate the Heritage Night.<\/p>\n

Finally, on Sunday, one of the traditional Jurade festivals will be held: the Ban des Vendanges (Harvest Proclamation). An opportunity to catch a glimpse of the many international personalities inducted for the occasion! In recent years, Tony Parker, Thomas Pesquet, Colin Slade, Valentin Porte and Denis Brogniart have all taken part in the Ban des Vendanges!<\/p>\n

In France, 3 vineyards are listed as World Heritage Sites. Firstly, the Saint-Emilion vineyard in 1999, followed by the Burgundy and Champagne vineyards in 2015.<\/p>\n

To mark the 25th anniversary of Saint-Emilion’s inscription, Jacques-Olivier PESME, Executive Director of Wine Origins Alliance, is honoring us with a unique round-table discussion.<\/p>\n
