Located in the north side of the Jurisdiction, the commune of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes takes its name from a very ancient period, when Celtic Christian religious, formerly called “druids”, had settled in the village.
With its chalky soil, the town is marked by underground galleries from which blocks of cut stones were extracted. Those were used to construct bourgeois houses and castles in Saint-Emilion, Libourne and etven Bordeaux.
