Located in the east of the Jurisdiction, the municipality of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse is bounded by the Barbanne river at its northern end. Birthplace of history, there is a rich heritage including a 12th century church and traces of a fortified accommodation from the protohistory (600-700 years BC) on the Niord plateau. A hiking trail starts from the bottom of the village, climbing up to the Croix de Tourans, which overlooks the entire Dordogne valley.

Did you know?

The Château of Pressac, located on the hillside of the commune, was the place where the treaty ending the Hundred Years’ War was signed at the end of the Battle of Castillon in 1453.
